My name is Mareike and my dream was to create a coliving place in São Miguel, Azores.

1982

Born in a small village, in Northwest Germany.

2004

Moved to North Wales to start a Bachelor in Marine biology & zoology.

onto the next chapter in life

2008

Moved to New Zealand to travel in a camper van for 1 year. Then, I started a PhD in coral ecology at the University of Wellington.

2012-19

Worked as marine biologist on various Pacific Islands (Hawaii, Rarotonga, American Samoa).

2019

Moved to São Miguel and started to help with dog rescue.
